Three practical methods to ensure the accuracy and condition of CNC lathe itself
When using a CNC lathe, we always hope it can operate with high efficiency and in good condition. In fact, machines are just like people. New machines are bound to outperform old ones in terms of performance. However, if we take appropriate protective measures and conduct regular maintenance during use, even old machines can achieve unexpected results. Today, as a CNC lathe manufacturer, we will explain three practical methods to ensure the accuracy and condition of your CNC lathe.
1. Regular maintenance and upkeep:
    Strictly adhere to the maintenance schedule: Regularly perform lubrication (on guide rails, lead screws, bearings, etc.), cleaning (of chips, oil stains), inspection, and adjustment as per the manufacturer's manual.
    Accuracy detection and compensation: Regularly use professional equipment such as laser interferometers and ball bar instruments to detect the geometric accuracy (straightness, perpendicularity, parallelism), positioning accuracy, and repeatability of the machine tool. Utilize the machine tool's pitch error compensation, backlash compensation, and other functions to perform software compensation for the detected systematic errors.
    Spindle maintenance: Check the radial runout and axial play of the spindle, and repair or replace the bearing if necessary. Ensure that the spindle taper hole is clean and undamaged.
Guide rail and screw: Inspect the wear of the guide rail, screw, and preload force, and adjust or replace them in a timely manner. Prevent thermal elongation of the screw from affecting accuracy(some high-end machine tools have thermal compensation functions).
2. Adequate preheating:
    When the machine tool is started in a cold state, the moving parts (especially the lead screws and bearings) may undergo thermal deformation due to uneven temperature, affecting accuracy. Before machining high-precision parts, the machine tool should be allowed to run idle (with the spindle rotating at low to medium speed and each axis reciprocating at low speed) for 15-30 minutes to reach a thermal equilibrium state.
3. Prevent overload and vibration:
    Avoid cutting beyond the rated power and rigidity of the machine tool, as excessive cutting force can cause deformation and vibration of the machine tool.
    Ensure that the machine tool is installed firmly, the foundation meets the requirements, and it is kept away from large vibration sources (such as punch presses, forging hammers, and crane passes).
